Frequently Asked Questions
Which cellular carriers are certified with the FWA12?
FWA12-NANR (5G NR, North America) is certified with Verizon (NSA), AT&T, and T-Mobile, plus FCC, IC, and PTCRB. It supports 5G R16 NSA/SA with 4-component-carrier downlink aggregation and 2-component-carrier uplink, up to 7 Gbps DL / 2.5 Gbps UL, with dual-band Wi-Fi 7.
How do I set up and log in to the FWA12 for the first time?
Connect the 5G and Wi-Fi antennas, insert the SIM card, and power on. Once booted, connect your computer via Ethernet or join the default Wi-Fi SSID printed on the device label. Open a browser and go to http://192.168.2.1 — log in with the credentials on the label. If Chrome blocks the login page, try Firefox or accept the browser security exception.
How do I connect the FWA12 to cellular and set the APN?
With the device powered off, insert the SIM and power on — the FWA12 auto-detects the carrier and applies the matching APN in most cases. If the cellular link does not come up, log in and go to Internet > Cellular, enter the APN from your carrier, and click Apply. Check the LEDs: steady green = 5G connected; steady blue = 4G; blinking red = no cellular access. Signal LED red / blue / green = weak / moderate / strong.
How do I configure failover on the FWA12?
Failover is configured in three sections under Internet:
Uplink Table — drag the priority handles to set order. The top interface is active; lower entries are backups. Cellular and WAN are both enabled by default.
Uplink Setting — enable Link Detection (ICMP / DNS / HTTP), enter one or two detection addresses, and tick the trigger conditions: Latency > 200 ms, Jitter > 200 ms, Loss > 5%, Signal Strength < Poor.
Link Backup — set Failover Mode to switch to the next-priority uplink when the active one fails.
Click Save. Fallback to the higher-priority uplink happens automatically once it recovers and passes Link Detection.
